Kailua Ahupuaʻa

The ʻĀina is alive, a living and breathing kupuna. She is our mother earth Papahānaumoku.
Our Ahupuaʻa is a natural resource rich and full in water, life, history, and culture.

Mauna Kiʻekiʻe

Our Kailua Ahupuaʻa mountain peaks forming the spine of the Koʻolau ridge are: Palikea, Awaaawaloa, Konahuanui.
Konahuanui is the tallest of the Koʻolau mountain range. 

PUʻu

Other mountain peaks in Kailua are Olomana, Pakui, Ahiki; Kaʻiwa; Ulumawao and Mahinui ridge.

Our Kailua Ahupuaʻa wind is the Malanai breeze.

Kahawai

Our streams of  Kailua Ahupuaʻa are Makawao, Ainoni, Maunawili, Omaʻo and Palapu stream

ʻĀpuakea, the famous rain of Kailua that pummels the the hala grooves of Kekele and Luluku.

Kapuaʻikanaka, a rain that sounds like the footsteps of a person, the rain of Kailua by the sea.
